Stage, Film & Published Works — Frank Sita Art & Productions

Frank Sita's work spans theatre, film and literature, encompassing original musicals, comedies, screenplays and published research.

He is currently developing Kandinsky's Women, a stage production exploring the life and work of abstract artist Wassily Kandinsky. He is also writing a book examining Dialectic Art and RADE, with the possibility of further academic research.

Writing & Professional Affiliations

Frank has contributed to Australia's music and arts publications as a freelance writer, including Music Trader and Vocal Magazine.

He was also a member of the Media, Entertainment & Arts Alliance (MEAA), with involvement in acting and journalism.

Aboriginal Rituals: Approaches and Interpretation

Based on Frank's honours thesis at La Trobe University, Aboriginal Rituals: Approaches and Interpretation was published by Spectrum Publications.

The book examines Aboriginal Australian rituals and traditions, including the roles of music, dance and artistic expression. This research influenced Frank's understanding of artistic creation and its place in human experience.

The book is held in the collections of the National Library of Australia, the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS), and university libraries.

Talk Show

Written, directed and starring Frank, Talk Show was presented at Chapel Off Chapel as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

Combining live music, comedy and drama, the production follows Jessie, an aspiring music star whose ambitions and relationships are complicated by an unscrupulous manager, her best friend, an ex-boyfriend and a talk show host.

Stage Fright

Stage Fright is an original musical comedy created and directed by Frank, presented at the Melbourne Fringe Festival.

The production satirises reality television through the story of an unethical producer who manipulates contestants in a Big Brother-style house in pursuit of the prize money.

The Voice

Frank's first screenplay, The Voice, attracted interest at film festivals in Melbourne and Sydney.

Inspired by his experiences running a music school, the story follows Lara, a young artist working as a music teacher.

As Lara revisits a difficult period in her life, she begins questioning her relationships and beliefs, confronting uncomfortable truths about herself and her future.

Radio Kings

Written and directed by Frank, Radio Kings was presented at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

Inspired by real-life experiences, the comedy follows Sam and Pete, two radio station employees navigating the personalities and questionable practices of the broadcasting industry.

Vocal Magazine described the characters:

"If Sam and Pete's energy levels were any higher they would be selling electricity back to the national grid."

As their disagreements intensify, a battle of wits unfolds, taking an increasingly sinister turn as the night progresses.

Visual Art Film & Visual Art Musicals

Through Dialectic Art and RADE (Research, Arts, Dialectic Experiences), Frank explores relationships between performance, visual art and audience experience in works he calls Visual Art Film and Visual Art Musicals.

He creates paintings inspired by theatrical and film productions, interpreting both the performances and the audiences experiencing them. These paintings become part of the broader artistic work, bringing different forms of expression into dialogue.
