Frank Sita is an Australian contemporary artist whose multidisciplinary practice spans painting, sculpture, music, stage production and research. With decades of experience across these fields, Frank embraces the ideals of the Modern Renaissance, believing in the value of developing expertise across multiple creative disciplines rather than limiting artistic expression to a single medium.
This philosophy underpins Frank’s original theory of Dialectic Art, which explores the relationships and interplay between different art forms, ideas and modes of creative expression. Frank has had many exciting recent developments both at home and abroad, with a growing focus on expanding the international presence of his art and research across the USA and Europe. Alongside developing his artistic practice, Frank is currently writing and researching his PhD thesis, which explores his unique RADE method and the principles and possibilities of Dialectic Art.
At the same time, Frank is actively exploring opportunities to present his work through gallery exhibitions and build new connections within the international art world. There is considerable optimism surrounding potential exhibitions in the future, with New York and Berlin among the locations being explored. These prospective opportunities represent an exciting next chapter in Frank’s ongoing engagement with contemporary art, research and cross-cultural exchange.
Frank received an invitation connected with the Venice Biennale in recognition of his painting and musical practice. Although he was unable to attend, the invitation represents an encouraging milestone in his ongoing international artistic journey. Building on connections established in Rome in previous years, Frank hopes to further develop his presence in Italy and explore future opportunities to present his work in Venice and across Europe.

A documentary exploring Frank’s artistic practice, created by a Melbourne filmmaker, has now been completed and screened at a film festival. The film offers an insight into Frank’s creative work and ideas, and is now available to watch online.

Visual Art — Belong 2026
In May 2026, Frank exhibited his work in Belong, the City of Whittlesea’s annual art exhibition, held at the Plenty Ranges Arts and Convention Centre (PRACC). The exhibition brought together artists exploring ideas of belonging, connection, identity and place, providing another opportunity for Frank to share his visual art with the local community.
Published Research and Scholarship
In 1996, Frank Sita published Aboriginal Rituals: Approaches and Interpretation through Spectrum Publications. The book explores Aboriginal Australian rites and ceremonies, religious practices and folklore, and represents an important part of Frank’s published research into ritual, art and cultural symbolism.
The book is catalogued by the National Library of Australia and is also represented in the collections of the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS). Its research has also been cited in other articles and publications, extending its reach beyond the original publication.
